I always had a love for horses ever since I was a little girl. When I was 8 years old, my Uncle bought me my first pony. I was in heaven. Of course one wasn’t enough, because he would be lonely, so my Uncle bought a second pony to keep him company. That’s where it all began and we just kept accumulating more and more until we had a small herd.

As I became a better rider and started getting taller, it was time to move up to a real horse. I remember how excited I was to go looking, but as I saw our first prospect, I instantly fell in love. He was the most beautiful big golden palomino paint. I just had to have him. The next day he was in our pasture.

I participated in 4-H and in some local shows as a kid, but nothing too serious. I always did my best, but I always knew that it was more for fun than anything else. When I was in my teens, I found myself with less and less time to spend with my animals and eventually realized it was time to part with the horses we had.

As I grew older I always knew that one day I would own a horse again. After all, my true passion is my love for horses! After I got married, I decided it was time to buy another horse and eventually I got my daughter involved too. Over the past several years we’ve had a few different horses and ponies and she and I have been able to share that passion.

I started helping out with the planning and running of some of our local shows, only because nobody else wanted to do it. My daughter has gotten involved in showing and that has brought me to this site. We realized how difficult it can be to find just what you are looking for in the line of show apparel…especially when you need something reasonably priced and sized for a child. A couple of times I had someone I knew sew something for us and eventually I decided to make my first attempt at sewing. I wasn’t the speediest seamstress (if you could even call me that), but I did complete it and I think it turned out rather well if I do say so myself. My daughter ended up with a gorgeous show shirt and used chaps that I embellished with crystals that really made a classy statement. I’ll let you be the judge, here it is:
